TiVo Faces Off With Flattering Clones I’m a TimeWarner DVR user. I will not pay for hardware and then pay monthly fees. They are going the Apple way which is not necessarily the best business decision IMO. Yes, you can have the best product but if it is not accessible and affordable it will go nowhere but the corner. We’ve seen this happen with Apple vs PC, Betamax vs VHS, Mac vs Windows, Netscape vs Internet Explorer and so on.
