For some weird ass reason I get the vibe that one person in upper management seems to think I’m not doing my job well enough. I’ve had nothing but trouble with this person since day one. I’m not superstitious but since nothing I do works for this person, I must admit he/she is cursed! This person thinks I get sick pleasure by giving company users crappy computers. Think about it, if the user has bad machine, I have to fix it and listen to all the whining. Doesn’t it make more sense to give the user better machine in the first place so that I can do less? I don’t gain anything by giving them bad machine! For some reason people think IT dept. has the best machine. NOT the case here! I use the same Dell Optiplex as my users! There’s a lockdown on budget, we are not allowed to buy any new replacement PC. My hands are tied. I can only do so much with a 400MHz PC! And users don’t make it easier. They will usually load crap and screw up their when they get a chance. I had one user who loaded his kid’s games on the laptop. Just because you have a Mac doesn’t mean you have the right to screw up PCs! This is why system admins take away your right to install anything and sometimes even see the C or A drive. When I get chance next time I will get the most bad ass machine I can! Most people are not born bad; they are turned into one by the cruel society. What’s the worst thing they can do? I can’t quite ’cause I need the money but getting fired will make things easy for me. I will finally be able to take the long deserved time off and won’t feel bad about quitting. It will be their loss ’cause people like me are rare and not everyone will do all the non IT stuff I do here. It may seem like I’m not doing anything but you have no idea what goes on behind the scene to keep things running. It’s like citizens of the a country who has no clue how many nuclear attacks were stopped by the secret service before they ever saw any sign of it. I make it look too damn easy!
